Well this is not a bean but a must-grow! The Carlin pea is a classic drying pea with an amazing history. Purple and lilac coloured flowers, brown coloured seeds with a nutty flavour. An alternative to chickpeas. Easy to grow in UK season – collect dry seed in late summer. Store and use in winter casseroles.
